Minimum Age and Account Verification

You must be 18 or older to open a Bovada account, and the registration form asks you to confirm it. Bovada says it watches for underage accounts and shuts down any it finds, keeping whatever that account won.

The catch is the full $500 takes $1,000 in rake inside a month, a pace only a regular grinder will hit. Deposit an amount you’ll actually play through.

Rewards Points After the Bonus

Once the 30 days end, the 50% return stops. Points keep coming at the same rate, but you trade them for tournament tickets instead of cash, and nothing on Bovada’s poker pages sets a clear dollar rate. Most estimates put the return somewhere between 1% and 3%. Jackpot Sit & Gos earn even less: 1.5 points per $1 of buy-in.

This one deserves more attention than it gets. When a friend you refer deposits at least $20, Bovada gives you a 200% match on their deposit, up to $200, for poker. It unlocks $5 for every 30 Poker Points, a far faster rate than the welcome bonus. If the friend deposits in crypto, you pick up another $75. Set the referral up before the friend’s first deposit, or it won’t count.

Bovada’s promotions page does not list a bad beat bonus or a royal flush bonus right now, even though several older reviews still describe both.

Games and Stakes

Bovada spreads three games: Texas Hold’em, Omaha and Omaha Hi/Lo. You won’t find Stud, Razz, Draw or any mixed rotation. Hold’em traffic dwarfs the other two, and Pot-Limit Omaha runs a distant second.

Cash Games

Tables come in heads-up, 6-max and full-ring sizes. No-Limit and Pot-Limit games start at 2¢/5¢ and climb to $10/$20, while Fixed-Limit runs as high as $30/$60. Most of the traffic sits at micro and low stakes, and games above $2/$5 run far less often.

Zone Poker

Bovada Zone Poker is the room’s fast-fold format. Fold, and the software pulls you off the table and seats you with a fresh hand somewhere else in the pool. Bovada charges 5% of the pot, and the cap depends on stakes and how many players sit at the table. Its own help center puts the ceiling at $4, not the $3 that several older reviews quote.

One Player Pool With Ignition

Bovada doesn’t run its own poker network. It sits on PaiWangLuo, the same software and the same tables Ignition uses, so a Bovada player in Texas and an Ignition player in Ohio can sit in the same hand. That shared pool keeps Bovada tables running even after the loss of 19 states. Traffic peaks between 7 p.m. and midnight Eastern, with Friday and Saturday nights the busiest.

How Anonymous Tables Change the Game
