SACRAMENTO, Calif. – There was some major action in Northern California recently as one poker player claimed nearly a $400k jackpot thanks to the progressive at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino at Fire Mountain.
The player, Andrew Holley, of Yuba City in California, just outside of Sacramento hit the 777 Diamond Poker Mega jackpot and won exactly $394,331. As a part of the poker game, he was playing just a $5 bet on the progressive when it hit for nearly $400k.
“We are thrilled to congratulate our neighbor on his life-changing jackpot this weekend,” said Mark Birtha, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sacramento president, in an emailed statement. “We certainly hope it made for an exciting weekend!”
What Is The 777 Diamonds Poker Mega?
What this is, is a progressive jackpot that is offered at most poker tables where players will play the side bet on the table for a chance to win. The way a player can win is when the first two cards dealt are both sevens and when a seven comes out on the flop, turn, or river.
In this case, the player at the Hard Rock Casino in Sacramento was dealt two sevens in Diamonds when another one came out on the board.
This California poker casino is located just outside of Sacramento, about 30 miles away from downtown.
