LAS VEGAS - It is officially that time of the year. The 2026 World Series of Poker is officially underway at the Horseshoe and Paris Hotels in Las Vegas.
This year’s 57th edition of the poker tournament will look a bit different, with different events and payouts.
What Is Different In 2026
This year’s tournament series will begin with the Mini Mystery Millions series, which will take place from May 27-29 with a $550 buy in. This will take the place of the casino's employees’ event.
As far as what to expect, there will be a huge online presence with roughly 30 online Nevada poker tournaments running through the end of the event. There will also be 100 live bracelet events.
There are several new regulations being introduced this year, as well as for participants go. No logos, patches, or unaffiliated sponsorships are allowed to be worn by any player.
Also, any third-party payouts outside of the tournament’s payouts will be allowed. If a player is caught taking a third-party payout, they’ll be forced to forfeit all winnings from the tournament.
